Be Extraordinary

Make A Difference In Your Community Today

Be Extraordinary is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with autism and similar special needs by providing them with opportunities to learn and apply life and vocational skills in a nurturing environment. Our approach fosters independence as participants engage in meaningful work tasks tailored to their individualized goals and potential.

Our mission is to cultivate an environment that promotes self-advocacy, independence, and a sense of accomplishment. We aspire to lead the way in creating community and workforce opportunities where individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities can thrive, find fulfilling work, and become active, productive members of society.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for individuals with special needs exceeds 80%, with limited job opportunities available after the age of 22. Many families express concern over the scarcity of employment options for individuals with disabilities post-high school. At Be Extraordinary, we focus on developing the skills necessary for young adults to achieve success and independence in their careers and lives.
About Us image

At Be Extraordinary, we are more than an organization—we are a community dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their fullest potential. Our mission is to create an environment where personal growth, independence, and self-advocacy flourish. Here's how we do it:

1.  Life and Vocational Skills: We believe in practical learning. Through our programs, individuals gain hands-on experience and apply essential life and vocational skills. Whether it's mastering a trade, honing communication abilities, or developing social competence, we provide the tools for success.

2.  Building Independence: Independence is at the core of our philosophy. By engaging in meaningful work tasks, participants build confidence and a sense of autonomy. We foster an environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of their starting point.

3.  Individualized Goals: Each participant at BeE Community program has unique aspirations. Whether it's vocational training, social integration, or personal growth, we tailor our approach to meet individual needs.

4.  Vocational and Social Skills: Our group activities focus on two critical areas: vocational skills and social competence. Participants learn practical job-related skills while also developing the ability to navigate social interactions. We believe that a well-rounded skill set leads to maximum independence.

5.  Executive Functioning: Our programs go beyond the basics. We integrate executive functioning components such as planning, organization, time management, task initiation, working memory, self-monitoring, sustained attention, perseverance, and flexible thinking. These skills are essential for success in all aspects of life.

Eligibility: To participate in the BeE Community program, individuals should be able to engage in small group activities (with a 1:4 ratio) and share our commitment to growth and independence.

Join us at Be Extraordinary as we redefine what's possible. Together, we'll build a future where everyone can achieve greatness.
